OLD VERSUS NEW

Ancient Caesarea

The Helena restaurant is situated inside an ancient stone house seen as you make your way into a hidden bay in the heart of the port of Caesarea, the centre of one of the most beautiful archaeological sites in the world. Landscapes of palm trees, golden sand, the blue sea and stones steeped in history and culture are viewed from every window and act as an inspiration for our daily creations.

Ancient cooking techniques alongside modern ones

Our culinary language is created out of influence and respect for the culture created throughout thousands of years of evolution through different periods in the location’s history and combines the old with the new: contemporary local cuisine inspired by the impressive periodic history that lived through the port.

A combination of local Mediterranean cuisine and a contemporary interpretation: using local and regional raw materials from the immediate vicinity of the restaurant, foraging wild herbs grown on the beach and ancient cooking techniques alongside modern ones.
